We chose Cassie on a sunny Thursday evening and it was one of the best choices we`ve ever made, she was a beautiful little girl and that tiny it was a job to find where she had settled herself down for a nap! Sadly at about a year old she started having episodes of walking around like she was blind so off to the vets we went and after a bill of more than a £1000 and a massive op later we were told she had liver problems and that she wouldn`t go past 3 years of age. We were given a special diet for her to follow which we kept to rigidly and as God was on our side we managed to keep her until 2 months before her 13th Birthday. Cassie loved all her sisters but especially her one big brother Sonny who she used to kiss much to his disgust, her one treat were grapes and would be sitting patiently at 8pm for them. Cassie went downhill early December and had to go into the vets for a few days but we were told it was a virus all the dogs in the area were picking up but now we know it was the beginning of the end, after that I was so afraid of her catching another virus I used to carry her in my arms and she loved watching the world go by. On Easter Sunday morning she ate her last dinner and from then on her decline was rapid I still continued to walk her in my arms but I knew she wasn`t enjoying it anymore, we took her to the vets at 9.40 on the Tuesday and was given the bad news that her lungs were filling with fluid and her hearbeat was rapid and she looked so sad we knew we had to do right by her and she was put to sleep with us by her side at 9.55, we were able to spend a while with her finding it hard to imagine her as once a pup with happiness and there she was a young dog but in an an old worn out body. Cassie was never allowed anything but her special food so missed out on meat, chews etc so we could imagine her arriving at Rainbow Bridge and God asking what she wanted to do first and her reply would have been `please can I have a Xmas dinner with all the trimmings which I have had to watch my brothers and sisters eat for the last 12 years lol. We shall always love and miss our very special Cassie Willow xxx
One At Rest...4th October / 4th November.....
Think of me as one at rest,
For me you should not weep.
I have no pain,no troubled thoughts
For i am just asleep.
The living thinking me that was,
Is now forever still,
And life goes on without me now,
As time forever will....
If your heart is heavy now,
Because i've gone away
Dwell not long upon it friend,
For none of us can stay.
Those of you who liked me,
I sincerely thank you all,
And those of you who loved me,
I thank you most of all....
And in my fleeting lifespan,
As time went rushing by,
I found sometime to hesitate,
To laugh, to love, to cry.
Matters it now if time began
If time will ever cease?
I was here, i used it all,
And now i am at peace...x~x~x

The boundaries which divide Life from Death
are at best shadowy and vague. ❤

The Bridge Beyond…❤
There is a bridge that leads beyond
The world of time and space.
Through a green and peaceful valley
To a lovely dwelling place.
Where our loved ones find true happiness
And joys which never end.
Across the bridge that leads beyond
The peaceful valley’s bend.

Beyond the Rainbow
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.
I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

♥ Secret Places ♥
The grass is soft
and the pond is cool
Around grow the flowers
and the tiny toadstools.
The trees, they glisten
with leaves of pure gold
A tiny little wild spot
that is ever so old.
A hidden place from our sight
A place of natural beauty
and serene delight.
So tiny is this,
we can hardly see
All over the earth
there are millions of these.
Overlooked by us,
as a puddle, not a pond
Never do we see it
as anything beyond.
So it is fitting
that these places glisten with pure gold
For to us, we cannot see
these tiny little strongholds.
Yes, you may see
a few toadstools growing in the shade,
And you may see the puddles
that in your mind
only the rain has made.
You may see the flowers
and the soft grass,
Appearing to you
as a mushy moldy mass.
Yes…
these are the secret places of the Fae
A place where they can
safely stowaway!!

♥ Waiting For Wilbur ♥
You run green fields and chase the clouds.
No boundaries. No sorrow. No pain.
Although I want to be with you, it is here where I remain.
Our memories are comfort now.
So treasured. So welcomed. So strong.
Although you are in another place, it is here where I belong.
One day, I know, I’ll cross the bridge.
Over stars. Beyond clouds. By the sea.
But until I travel to rainbows end, by the shore, Wilbur waits for me.

███████ THE GUARDIAN ANGELS SENT TO ALL..
TO BEAR US UP WHEN WE STUMBLE AND FALL.
PRAY AND HOPE AND OFTEN YOU'LL HEAR,
THE WHISPER OF ANGEL WINGS HOVERING NEAR...X~X~X
"So Long, Pal" by Ethel Blumann
(on the death of Boy, my Irish setter), circa 1935
We've wandered together
In all sorts of weather,
The sun on our coats and the wind in our hair.
We've travelled the highways,
The streets and the byways,
In country or city, with never a care.
In summer's lush greenness
Or winter's gray leanness
Through fields, over hills, just you and I, Boy.
And stopping or going,
Or hasting or slowing,
My word was your law, and my will was your joy.
No hills' rocky steepness,
No roaring stream's deepness
Could stop your swift leap or your brave onward stride.
With eyes full of laughter
You'd watch me crawl after,
But always you'd wait till I stood by your side.
But we've come to the lonely
Dark crossroads where only
One may go on, and the other must wait.
Do you watch my feet blunder
With slow steps, and wonder
Why I linger so long, why I'm coming so late?
They'll be long years and hollow
For me, till I follow,
But I think you'll be waiting for me as of yore,
And then at our meeting,
You'll bark a glad greeting,
And we'll start out anew, together once more.
